Every trainee position is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities and challenges and matching profile.

Your responsibilities as Trainee Specialist Asset Management

Business Area Heat develops and operates the entire heat value chain and creates and offers integrated heat/energy solutions to meet the current and future energy needs of a growing urban society. The heat value chain contains the thermal power plants, the heat grids, the sales to heat customers and the heat customer experience. The main activities of the department Asset Management Heat NL consist of Asset and Performance Management, Portfolio & Network Planning and Development and Contract Management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Project management and cooperation in improvement projects (e.g. asset management);
  • Support of strategic development projects and processes;
  • Supporting the business at various levels in the organization (from the workfloor to management levels);
  • Development of ideas for the optimization of business processes;
  • Support of management in change processes and collaboration in business projects.

Your profile as Trainee Specialist Asset Management

We are looking for recent graduates holding an academic degree. You are fluent in business English. Skills in other world languages can be a merit. Furthermore, you are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. You identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.”

As a Trainee Specialist Asset Management you recognize yourself in the following qualifications:

  • Academic degree in business administration, engineering or any other relevant field of study;
  • Excellent proficiency in Dutch and English. Good knowledge of German/ Swedish language is an advantage;
  • Strong analytical skills. Is able to translate information into commercial and financial analyses as well as to interpret these;
  • Well-grounded in working with MS Office;
  • Very good communication skills;
  • Flexible team player;
  • Persistent, driving and curious;
  • Ability to express a strong motivation for energy production;
  • Knowledge of the energy business and the related technology is an advantage;
  • You have the ambition to fulfil a leadership position within 5 years from now;
  • Willingness to travel.

Last day to apply is March 10th 2019. Selection period starts in March/April, followed by interviews in April/May. An assessment is also part of the recruitment process and will take place in May in Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands. The recruitment process will be finalized around the end of May/beginning of June. The last step will be a pre-employment screening. Starting date of the Vattenfall International Trainee Programme will be September 2nd 2019.
